DCPET Engineeering Fiber used for highway is a kind of advanced material, which can improve the quality of asphalt pavement and extend service time of asphalt pavement. Since 1970's, American Kapejo Company have researched and developed the fiber for highway, called BoniFiber. It was widely used for asphalt mixed materials by developed countries in Europe and America in the passed 30 years. Based on test data and information, this fiber will greatly improve the high temperature stability and durability, at the same time, it possessed the merits as follows: Anti-craking under low temperature, avoid to reflected crack, excellent water-resistance and antiskid property, light noise as driving on the road.

It is necessary and important to improve the stability and durability of asphalt pavement along with the vigorous development of expressway and the widely use of heavy automobile. However the price of BoniFiber is too expensive, it restricted greatly development of good quality asphalt pavement used for this kind of fiber.

In order to reduce building cost and realize commercial production in China, our company researched and developed DCPET Fiber successfully, which was made by Polyester and spun it into filament in new process. Its diameter is between 0.02mm to 0.025mm, through hyperploid's stretching and its surface is coated with particular chemical reagent, and then got it by cutting. The fiber possessed the following characteristic such as high tenacity, high modulus, good oil absorbent performance, excellent dispersion quality, resistance to high temperature and low temperature, etc. The test target and data of DCPET Fiber have reached or exceeded the one of BoniFiber; Furthermore the sale price is only 1/3 thimes that of BoniFiber, so DCPET Fiber is really the best new building material.

The using methods of DCPET fiber
* The raw materials of bituminous concrete of DCPET fiber are same as the bituminous concrete without fiber
* The mixing temperature of bituminous concrete of DCPET fiber is same as the bituminous concrete without fiber
* Blend the aggregate with the fiber (the quantities of fiber have been designed) into the stirring vessel; then add the asphalt for wet mixing 40-50s after mixing 10-15s with the drying aggregate, assure that the fiber is mixed evenly with bituminous concrete
* Continuous Process (Adapted to construction of large area)
The lime-powder occupy a proportion of 1-3% in bituminous concrete. First, add the lime material and DCPET fiber into the stirring vessel, primarily stirring 20-30s; then blend it into bituminous concrete, mixing by using the routine method.
* Construct standard:
Should clear the surface of bridge or concrete pavement when construct, compact the pavement through routine method; But the times of compacting are 3-4 times than routine method, assure that compact and level off the pavement.

* Improve the wheel tracking resistance in high-temperature of the the bituminous concrete
* Improve its splitting resistance in low-temperature, that is to say, avoid to coming into being shrinkage crack and specular crack
* Improve its water stability
* Improve its fatigue resistance; that is to say, resist the collapsing under loading again and again
* Improve its ageing resistance; that is to say, prevent losing the tenacity and adhesive force because of the weather
* Improve its flexibility, spalling resistance, resistance to abrasion and water stability, have special ability for resisting the specular crack.
